Medicare Rebates

Private hearing services are not covered by Medicare unless you have a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan organised by your General Practitioner* or a referral from an Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) specialist or a Neurologist.

Children with an existing diagnosis of Autism or Pervasive Development Disorder may also be eligible for a Medicare rebate.

You may be eligible for a refund through your private health insurer. Unfortunately, HICAPS is not available for Audiology, including hearing aids and repairs. Any applicable rebates will be collected from your fund direct.

*There is a criteria to be met to be eligible to have a CDM plan by your General Practitioner.

Payment is strictly required on the day of consultation unless otherwise arranged and authorised with management.

Payment can be made either by cash, EFTPOS, credit card or direct bank transfer. We do not require a medical referral from you in order to book an appointment.

Accreditation

Gippsland Audiology is fully accredited with Worksafe, National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and the Australian Government Hearing Services Program (HSP).

Should you have an existing Worksafe hearing claim or eligible for a new claim then we are able to assist, with the costs covered by the Worksafe Insurer.

As with the HSP, should you be eligible then all services are covered. All audiologists are accredited with Audiology Australia and maintain their ongoing professional development obligations.

We are Gippsland’s only full-time team of local independent audiology experts. Servicing communities in Warragul, Drouin, Bairnsdale, Moe, Newborough, Trafalgar, Morwell Churchill, Traralgon, Rosedale, Sale, Leongatha, Korumburra, Foster & Wonthaggi.
